It was fun and I wish I could have stayed. I made a lot of friends, but when i left it was sudden and wasn't able to get any contact information. Anyone remember me?

The absoulute best time of my life. Some of the hardest work I've ever done 6 on 6 off at sea, all the engine overhauls and those 1000 hour checks. And who could forget those exhaust fires when the mains got good and hot. Guam was awsome lived at Old Wives beach. Learned to dive there and spear fish. I still keep in touch with some good friends while on her. It would have been nice to see her one last time and walk AFT one more time.

What's up Holland Family ("HF")!  I came to the Holland a boy and left a man.  The Holland memories are irrerasable.  What a time: Hurricane Hugo, the Battery, Steel Beach Parties and General Quarters!  I would love to catch up with my DK homies and the rest of my shipmates.  Let's create a facebook page and see what happens!

Send pictures if you have them!  I can't wait to connect with you!

I had many great times on board Holland...and some that were not so good.  I was sad to leave just before her decommissioning.  I met some good friends and did a lot of growing up in those years.

Liverpool was scary when we hit the pier and the North Atlantic discharge runs were sickening, yet God carried us through it all. The saddest time was when the women came on-board and they secured the weather decks at night. . Setting outside Charleston after Hugo was despairing, especially when we could not communicate with the East Coast Command There. Sure glad someone brought a portable phone aboard.

Best duty station ever.  I had great times and good friends.  Met my wife of 21 years on the mess decks.  Me and Jennifer (Woolary IC3) had 2 children together.  We now have one grandson who is almost 2 years old. We bought a house and live in Joplin Missouri. (Can't get any further away from the ocean than that!) Contact me if you remember me......
