Comments: I had a great time on the Holland. So many good memories partying in Diego Garcia. Also had fun in Australia. I would love to connect with the shipmates I worked with. I was one of the three female Radioman in my department.
Comments: I came over from the OAK RIDGE. There wre a lot of good times and hard work on both ships. After the trip back to Charleston I was ready to go back to ROTA. Hello to everyone in the Repair Division.
Comments: I had a lot of fun while serving on the Holland, except for the brief period that I worked beside a CPO that was a real ass (that´s you Lingat). I met a lot of cool people and had some crazy port call experiences. Was very glad to move on, but this was my first step into the navy, so I wont forget it. I got my bachelor´s and master´s degreees paid for, so it was worth it. If Heather Shankey reads this, I love you and miss you. I wish we could make contact again. Send me an email if you do.
Comments: NICE WEBSITE
Comments: Assigned to W-2 and loaned to W-4 Since I was a Pori-Idas Tech

Comments: I was tad to comsubron 16 with lt hall, mc wall, yn1 dye, yn1 anderson, yn2 speck, yn3 zorn. Also work in personnel office between mess cooking and tad to comsubron 16.
Comments: Great experience to be on the Holland. Many years after I left the Navy I ended up coaching a youth basketball team with a commander that served just before she was decommissioned. Does anyone remember Commander JR Simpson?
Comments: Good Times with Good People. I miss the shipmates.... just not the politics. It was an experience that I will never forget. I didn't appreciate it back then... but I sure do now. I would do it all over again in a New York minute.
Comments: It was the greatest experiance of my life and i am proud to have served my country on board the USS Holland for my tour of duty . Thank-you for this oppurtunity Mr Dennis Lynch
Comments: Man I loved this boat if I could have stayed on her I would have been a lifer!!
Comments: Came on board ICFN and left IC2. Met a lot of great people. Jeffries, Clepper, Rick Le Stergeon and Joe Downer! Served with Joe Downer at the Lakes in the late 80's. Also Joe Loffey and my best friend Kevin Nicholson from Maine!
Comments: I spent just under a year in Rota. It was one of the best times of my life. I lived on Calle Capitan Cortez in a pretty crude apartment. It was near the California Bar on what we used to call Red Square (where all the taxis waited for fares). That bar is now an ice cream shop. I went back to Rota in 1995 and it sure is different now. I worked on Mk 45 torpedoes, which are now museum pieces. While we were underway, I was the Sea and Anchor Detail Helmsman. I used to love steering the Holland in and out of port. Would love to hear from old shipmates.
Comments: Looking forward to joining
Comments: The Holland was my first ship and the trip from Charleston to Rota was an eye opener for a wide eyed young man from West Virginia by God . We stopped at Amsterdam on the way and that healed all wounds! I have only fond memories of my first crew and great ship and all our two wheeled trips to T Town. I would love to hear from any of the old crew!
Comments: lots of good times in holy loch, and in charleston s.c. would like to hear from some old friend {mello, burns, greg hoover, brian and his wife norma
Comments: Loved my 2 years there. Proud to work on the subs and keep them on patrol.
Comments: I had some great times with some of my best friends on the Holland. I'll never foget the times off in Dunoon, Grenick, Glasgow, and my convelesant leave in Edinburogh. Not to mention the monsters of rock concert in Nottingham England. Frenchy, Fred Boulet, George the Animal Steele, Woody, Doug, and the whole list of good guys that I worked with and partied with. You all take care and hope to see you at a reunion soon!
Comments: Was proud to a part of the Holland family. I met a lot of new friends while onboard, and would love to catch up with some of them. I remember going through the typhoon around Australia - the rocking and rolling, and I loved it. (until I was told that had we rocked another 3 degrees we could have capsized because of the weight of the cranes) But, my 2 1/2 years onboard were fun, even when I was "in trouble".
Comments: I miss all the good times on Guam |
