Comments: too long ago, can't remember much except it was a great experience, learned a lot about life in general.

Comments: I miss the crew of that ship! It was a great experience to have the USS Holland as my first command to go to after boot camp.

Comments: Actually, it was my husband Eric Guenther who was on the Holland. It was a totally magical crew and exciting times. Many pictures still make me smile.

Comments: Great time in my Naval career. Remember the crane boom drop in Rota. Cool trip across the Atlantic. Great stay in the Charleston area. Lots of games of spades and hearts.
Comments: after seen all these pictures it has brought tears to my eyes, it was the best time of my life and the begining of a 20 year career in the Navy as BM, Ill never forget the ship or the people, i will go thru my bags and find some pics that i still have
Comments: Served on board in the Deck Department from 1987 to 1991, best ship's basketball team in Charleston for three consecutive years!!!!

Comments: Would like to talk with anyone who served durning on the Holland 1969-1971
Comments: Reported onboard in Rota December 29th, 1971. Left the ship when it was leaving for Holy Loch. Wish i would have stayed on it. Great times. I returned to the Navy and retired in 1994. Currently live in Holmen,/LaCrosse WI. Love to hear from anyone in the area or anyone who served when i did. |
