Comments: Actually, it was my husband Eric Guenther who was on the Holland. It was a totally magical crew and exciting times. Many pictures still make me smile.

Comments: Great time in my Naval career. Remember the crane boom drop in Rota. Cool trip across the Atlantic. Great stay in the Charleston area. Lots of games of spades and hearts.

Comments: Reported onboard in Rota December 29th, 1971. Left the ship when it was leaving for Holy Loch. Wish i would have stayed on it. Great times. I returned to the Navy and retired in 1994. Currently live in Holmen,/LaCrosse WI. Love to hear from anyone in the area or anyone who served when i did.

Remember-Rebecca Ann Cameron,The last time I saw her ,I was returning from home,al. after 96 hrs. liberty at Christmas and she was on the side of Red Bank road arguing with that boyfriend she had and I almost stopped to ask her if she wanted a ride to the ship but didn't.Bothered me enough that I reported what I had seen to the MAA.was this ever solved? Hurricane Hugo-WOW Naval Weapons Station Charleston Champion-8th fight of the night,and the first sailor to beat a marine,this started a full out riot that shut down the main base and the naval weapons station.Thanks Manny Abac for training me.what a night. Also want to say hi to all my marine buddies
