Memories of the Holland will always remain some of the best times I had in the Navy. Myself and the other gunnersmates used a range in South Carolina to teach and qualify watch standing from the subs that came along side. We would take 50 cal machine guns to the range and fire up the line. Looking back I am totally shocked no one was killed. We built and Armory that was second to none. I miss those Gunners, they were of the best.....

Hi all, as I get older, I am getting more sentimental. Would love to hear from you all. Remember line dancing, going out on the Haunch? What about freezing on the liberty boat going to Chin Hae? How about those sunsets? I miss the color of the water when we were underway and I miss hearing the waves crash on the ship. And all those flying fish jumping in the ships wake. I am on facebook or you can email me. atjl1234@yahoo.com
