Comments: The USS Holland was the first ship I stationed on in the USNavy and my first command after graduating EM "A" school. I am retiring from the Navy after serving for 20 years and would like a flag from the USS Holland in my shadow box. Do you know if it's possible for me to find one?
Comments: I want to thank all of you for serving on board the Navy's finest. Our job was very important during the CW. I used to tie up the subs that came in and worked in a variety of S-3 areas such as the dry cleaning shop/cutting hair as well. Got out in 1980 and returned to the Reserves in 1997. Believe it or not, I served in Iraq in 2006. I hate to see those pictures of Holland in CA. God bless you all.
Comments: HAD A GOOD TIME ONBOARD
Comments: I served as Department Head Yeoman in the Comm/Ops Dept. First under a LtJG Jeffcoat, then LCDR Smith. I worked with a Chief Hastings and SM1 Marty Dix. Great job during my time on board. Didn't do duty and had open gangway everyday. I met a girl from Sevilla and got married there, then came back to be discharged. Go back every year to visit her family and enjoy our condo we bought there in Marbella 10 years ago. Best place to spend summers. Haven't been on base since I left, but go to visit in Chipiona, Rota, Puerto de Santa Maria frequently. Great memories. Does anyone from my time show up at these reunions, as I don't see alot of folks going to them. Where is the Holland berthed at now? Never see or hear from much of anyone.

Comments: Miss serving. Wish I had retired.
Comments: Great Ship, Great Crew....Lot's of work and lot's of liberty!!! I still miss the old day's. Great cruise from Bremerton to Charleston then on to Holy Loch. I loved swim call in the southern pacific(The best one was when they forgot to reverse the prop and the ship was still moving, What a hoot).
Comments: Would like to hear from any ex-Halland sailor during years of 1940 to 1943
Comments: hello to all my past shipmates and god bless
Comments: I want to be a plank owner, I want to be an association member. What is a Shell Back, and do I need to be one?
Comments: I was on the GEORGE C. MARSHALL, refitted alongside HOLLAND three times in Holy Loch. Returned as ship's company in 1980. Lived in Eagle Court, Sandbank with many wardroom members. Lots of great memories, living in Scotland and taking the ship to Bergen Norway for a port call; drinking all the Naval Attache's liquor at the Hotel Norge and then ordering more, much to his dismay. Never worked so hard- one and three duty when only three of us were qualified inport OODs in my watch section. Debbie Randall and I were port and starboard OODs for several weeks until the Senior Watch Officer decided to make everyone stand watch. Remember off-loading T-AKs during rain, sleet, snow, and sunny skies all in the same day! I still have a couple Western Ferry and Cal-Mac tickets. Shipyard was the pits. Remember an SH3 (what was his name?!) drowning!
