He became a naturalized US citizen and his residence at the time was recorded as the USS Holland. I just found that out today looking on-line. Thought that was pretty cool. Wish they had pictures of the crew from June 1931.

No Department / Division / Shop : Dental Comments: Great memories. 6 weeks in GTMO after the shipyard in Charleston, around the world cruise with passage through the Suez and Panama Canals and equator crossings. Fantastic shipmates. Most memorable tour of my career.

NO Department / Division / Shop : Deck was TPO for both division Comments: I came to the AS-32 Holland from the AE-24 Haleakala after decom. I miss my shipmates and all the parting at Lights, ONX and haging out at the beach and Wet Willies with the guys. This was one of my best tours and I hope to reconnect with any shipmates that I hung out with and partied with during my time on the Holland.
